Vintage 1940s Quebec Pottery Nautical Mugs Marcel Choquette for Faiencerie dArt Marine Series designer scarf The label reads “Bellville SassoonThis is a set of four pottery mugs (chope in French) made in 1945 by Quebec artist, ceramicist and sculptor Marcel Choquette for La Faiencerie dArt of Montreal. Marcel Choquette (1913 1971) is well known for his bronze sculpture of hockey legend Maurice Richard as well as Quebec politicians Maurice Duplessis and Paul Sauv, but also created a number of ceramic pieces. These mugs are four of a set of six featuring a nautical theme, known in French as
